Living with a housemate has its challenges, especially if you don’t see eye-to-eye on certain matters like hygiene.
However, this particular Malaysian took it a bit too far with his housemate when the latter didn’t clean his room.
Too far, in fact, he was recently fined by the Shah Alam Magistrate Court a sum of RM4,000 for threatening his housemate with a knife over the matter.
As reported by Melaka Hari Ini/BERNAMA, the accused, 35-year-old Mohd Khairul Izuwan Che Rahim threatened to kill his 23-year-old housemate Khairul Ailmie Md Rosalin with the knife.
The accused performed the criminal act at their rented house in Kampung Sri Aman, Puchong on 1 April 2023 at 6pm.
Not only that, but Khairul Izuwan also burned Khairul Alimie’s shoes, shirt and pants, as well as chased him with the knife.
The accused was slapped with a charge under Section 506 of the Penal Code which could’ve landed him in jail for up to 7 years, a fine or both. Accordingly, should he fail to pay the fine, the accused will be imprisoned for 7 months.
