During the MCO, most of us got to see the two contrasting sides of our enforcement personnel.
Those who went against the law were subjected to strict treatment but those who were in need were definitely helped by our abang/kakak polis and askar.
Recently on 7 October, a family of three (parents and a small toddler) were stranded at the side of the road in Port Dickson as their motorcycle was out of fuel. They couldn’t find a petrol station nearby so they needed to push their bike slowly, according to a Facebook post.
When an abang polis and askar were patrolling the area, they saw the family and went over to ask them what the problem was. The toddler’s parents then said that they ran out of fuel and the nearest petrol station is about 10km away while their home is 25km away.
Hearing this, the enforcement officers then went and looked around for petrol and managed to get some for the trio. With some help from our frontliners, the family managed to get home safely.
This is definitely the true spirit of Malaysia! We really need heartwarming stories like this during these trying times.
