Chap fan or mixed rice is also referred to as economy rice as it is cheap and you get a variety of food.
However, it seems that economy rice may not be the correct term any longer as a netizen has shared that getting 1 meat and 1 vegetable has cost them RM28!
According to both Sin Chew Daily and China Press, a Facebook user has shared their experience of taking out mixed rice from a restaurant in Kinrara, Puchong.
After putting in the rice, 1 vegetable dish and 1 pork dish into his lunch box, the total came up to a whopping RM28!
As it would not be hygienic to put back whatever he took, he paid for the food and went home.
In the post, he says that this store is just a regular restaurant, but the price is like buying from Pavillion food court.
He laments: “Is this (the high price) because I took too much pork?” but he admits that he is at fault as well, as he did not ask for the price first.
“The restaurant did not put the price out so I just took it. As a result, I ended up eating expensive mixed rice and I only have myself to blame.”
Many netizens were saying that the portion of meat is quite hefty. However, it should not have cost more than RM20.
Well, we’ve been seeing more and more complaints about the prices of food going up. Have you ever faced something similar? Let us know in the comments.
