How can Nasi Lemak go wrong, aside from not having the essentials like Sambal, anchovies, and eggs? A customer from Seremban recently got herself Nasi Lemak “from another universe” due to its difference in the rice itself.
On her TikTok account @ainnurizzati08_, Ain noticed something odd in the Nasi Lemak that she purchased from a roadside stall. Instead of nasi lemak rice, Ain was shocked to find rice resembling Nasi Impit we usually have during Raya season. Unfortunately, there was not much Sambal at the side and no other condiments were given.
Technically, it was still white rice, but not the cooking method meant for Nasi Lemak, aside from the absence of the condiments that define the dish. Unfortunately, that was not all.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Ain said that the food did not taste good, AT ALL.
“The rice had no taste at all and the sambal tasted weird. Generally, it tasted more like plain white rice and not Nasi Lemak. The texture was exactly like Nasi Impit.”
Despite being sold at only RM1, Ain also told WORLD OF BUZZ that she bought 6 packs of the rice from the vendor in the hopes of showing support but she was left disappointed by her discovery.
“I bought them for my friends so they could try, and I wanted to show support for local business. It shocked me and I felt scammed.”
According to Ain, the rice packs were bought at a roadside stall near Giant hypermarket in Senawang. You can watch the “new kind” of Nasi Lemak in the viral clip below.
