A 28-year-old Malaysian man was sentenced to 6 weeks in prison, after he had allegedly tried to touch an auxiliary officer’s gun TWICE.
According to a report by Lianhe Zaobao, the Malaysian man, who is an SMRT bus driver, was passing through the Woodlands Checkpoint on May 6 (Tuesday) when he became curious about an auxiliary officer’s gun, wanting to know if there were bullets in it.

He then decided to approach the officer and ask in Bahasa Malaysia (BM) whether the gun had bullets.
When the officer did not understand what he was asking, the Malaysian man repeated in English, “Do you have bullets in your pistol?”
Immediately after asking the question, he reached for the auxiliary officer’s gun, prompting the officer to place both his hands on the gun and to call for assistance.
He reached for the gun not once, but twice!

Another officer then appeared to assist, but the Malaysian man reached for the gun again, leading to his arrest and being remanded in custody until his court date on Monday (June 16).
While at the National Court, he faced 2 charges of using criminal force to obstruct a public servant, and he pleaded guilty to only one charge. He was ultimately sentenced to 6 weeks in jail.
