Malaysian athlete Welson Sim is winning hearts in China as he is trending on China’s social media platform Weibo for his handsome face! Born in Kuching, Sarawak, 24 years old Welson Sim is representing Malaysia at the Tokyo Olympics in the Men’s 200m and 400m swiming freestyle category.
Even with his mask on, China’s netizens are already amazed by his good looks during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony. “The handsome boy from Malaysia’s team, this is so great, boys who swim are so handsome!” one of the netizens said.
Some Weibo posts even shared his Instagram photos and account, calling him someone who “leaves big impression even after just a glimpse”.
Welson has already been catching eyes since the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games, where he won gold medals for both Men’s 200m and 400m freestyle.
Welson will participate in Men’s 200m freestyle today along with another national swimmer Phee Jinq En who is competing in the women’s 100m breaststroke.
