Girls deserved to feel safe, regardless of where there are. Unfortunately, in some cases, it looks like social media is not even a safe haven anymore for fellow women.

Just recently, local actress Ruhainies shared a video of herself promoting a gaming chair via her Instagram post. Ruhainies, who is in a fully red dress simply sits on the gaming chair while turning herself around.

“I bought this chair for my office although I’m not a gamer myself. It eases my job because the chair is so comfortable and beautiful,” she wrote.

What was supposed to be a marketing video for the gaming chair turned into a space for online predators who left suggestive and sexual comments.

The video was not only shared by Ruhainies herself but was also picked up by many other Facebook pages. In the comment section of Roti Kaya’s Facebook page, many Malaysian men had the audacity to leave inappropriate comments.

“It’s so hard to focus on the chair.”

“It turns me on to see her breasts,” said another user.

One commented, “She sits on the chair like that, we sit on her.”

“Free stuff, just accept and support. Who knows she’s giving us more than that.”

One netizen said, “Nice cleavage”, whilst another commented, “Don’t try to show if you’re not gonna reveal anything.”

At the time of writing, Ruhainies have yet to respond to the comments online.
