Ok, guys! This has gone a little too far because sharing pictures of poor Moey Yun Peng’s dead body on social media is not cool at all and it’s definitely not a good way to honour the deceased.
Not only that, his family has requested netizens to stop sharing the pictures all over the internet as they want to remember him as a cheerful boy, reported Malaysiakini. One of Moey’s family members was quoted as saying,
“We hope the public can stop speculating on the accident and stop sharing the pictures. We want to remember him as the handsome and cheerful boy and cherish the nice moments we had with him.”
Adding on, it was also reported that Moey’s funeral will take place tomorrow (Thursday, 24 January 2019). RIP Moey.
On a different matter, Malaysiakini reported that the driver who hit Moey’s car was arrested. The guy apparently turned himself in at the Seberang Perai Tengah district police headquarters at 2am, today (23 January 2019).
Following that, the police revealed that the case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death through reckless and dangerous driving.
This means the driver may be sentenced to prison for two to 10 years and may face “a fine of RM5,000 to RM20,000”.
Earlier this week, a tragic accident happened when an SUV plunged into the ocean from the Penang bridge after being hit by a car which lost control. Yesterday (22 January 2019), the SAR team managed to locate the SUV after three days of searching for it.
Having said that, let’s all be a little more sensitive towards the victim’s family and not circulate pictures of Moey’s body. We should learn to be a little respectful towards them because Moey’s family is going through a very hard time. We are better than this, guys.
