The notorious roundabout in Subang Jaya that borders SS15, SS14, SS13 and SS12 is set to get upgrades in the form of traffic lights and a road closure, in an effort to reduce congestion during rush hours.

According to a report by SJ Echo, the upgrade works are set to commence in July 2026 and will be completed by December 2026, with operations expected to begin in January 2027.

“This plan will help reduce congestion, especially during rush hours, and improve traffic movement around the key intersections,” shared MBSJ MPP Zon 1 Councillor Ken Chia.

Here are the changes that will be made to the roundabout

Roundabout 1

Firstly, 3 traffic lights will be installed at the roundabout to help control the flow of traffic. Secondly, the road at the roundabout that heads towards Bandar Sunway will be closed.

This means that those from SS15 and USJ heading towards Bandar Sunway will have to head towards Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) to make a U-turn before being able to take the road to Bandar Sunway.

WORLD OF BUZZ has reached out to MBSJ MPP Zon 1 Councillor Ken Chia for comment, but has yet to hear back.

What do you think about the upcoming upgrades to the roundabout? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
