Minister of Education, Dr. Radzi Jidin announced that all schools including vocational colleges will be closed from the 9th November 2020 to 17th and 18th December 2020.

The decision was made following the conditional movement order (CMCO) enforced on all states in the peninsula, except for Kelantan, Pahang, and Perlis.

Classes however are expected to continue online or through home-based learning and all schools are to ensure teachers and students carry out teaching and learning at home.

Parents are also urged to take their children home from their hostels and obtain consent letters for inter-state travel.

All primary school students are required to resume face-to-face classes on 20th January 2021 and the same will go for Form One, Four, Five, Six as well as vocational college students.

Form Two and Three students will begin online learning on the same day and will be allowed to resume on 8th March 2021.

“These rules also apply to private schools and any educational institutions registered under the ministry. Schools not registered under the ministry are also advised to follow this ruling.”
