Malaysian actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh recently posted on Instagram that she has partnered with the Spanish luxury brand Balenciaga as its brand ambassador.
In one of the posts, Yeoh said that “Fashion is a form of art. It’s not just about a dress but about self-expression, how you feel in the dress, and the values you embody wearing it; it is a way to communicate my work and who I am to the world.”
“Wearing Balenciaga makes me value the artistry and craftsmanship behind every piece. The brand embodies a sense of originality and relevance while always remaining true to its heritage as a couture atelier. It is an honor to partner with Balenciaga,” she added.
Unfortunately, some of her fans did not seem to be overjoyed with the announcement due to Balenciaga’s issues in the past such as its alleged involvement in child exploitation and its alleged support for Israel.
“Supporting a brand that exploits children is so wrong!”
One netizen wrote, “Amazing actress but whoever pushed you to be an ambassador for this brand needs to be questioned.
