Yesterday, August 26, 2022, Najib made his first public appearance, two days after his imprisonment.
He was back in the courtroom for the trial of his 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) embezzlement case amounting to RM2.28 billion.
However, that was not the only big news of the day.
A video of a mysterious man making a ruckus at the Court Complex yesterday morning has gone viral on social media.
He spoke loudly and made dramatic gestures as if giving a passionate motivational talk.
According to Sentul District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Beh Eng Lai, the suspect appeared at the complex to attend the 1MDB fund embezzlement case trial.
“However, the officer did not allow the man to enter the courtroom because he had nothing to do with the case and ordered him to leave,” he said.
“When he arrived at the court premises, the man gave a speech in a loud and strong voice. He was directing his words towards the media covering the trial of Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s 1MDB case,” he said in a statement today.
According to him, the suspect was then ordered by the police to leave so as not to disturb public order.
He added that the investigation found that the suspect is a teacher and is believed to be mentally unfit.
“The suspect will be asked to testify to assist the investigation in accordance with Section 290 of the Penal Code for causing public harm and Section 14 of the Minor Offenses Act for giving a speech with the intention of disturbing the peace,” he said.

It is uncertain what the man’s intentions were, but in this case, disrupting public order may not have been the best way to achieve his mission.
