With more individuals and organisations doing their best to help ease the victims of war caught in the Israel-Palestine conflict, McDonald’s Malaysia has also done its part by contributing a large sum of donation money to Palestinians.
In a statement released last night (October 17), McDonald’s Malaysia revealed that they have donated a whopping RM1 million to the Palestine Humanitarian Fund.
The move is in line with the pure intentions of the Malaysian government during the presentation of Budget 2024 in the Dewan Rakyat. The donation was also made in response to the Prime Minister’s call to collect RM10 million for the Palestine Humanitarian Fund.
The increasingly pressing humanitarian crisis in Gaza has made the organisation realised how important this effort is, which explains their decision to take part in the government’s support of the humanitarian aid mission in Gaza.
“Therefore, McDonald’s Malaysia is joining hands with the government in supporting this funding. In the hope that it will help the Palestinian people who are facing difficulties,” the statement added.
The aid covers medical assistance, food, shelter, and evacuation assistance if needed by the rescue team.
“Our commitment is fully focused on providing basic needs to those in need,” McDonald’s Malaysia said.
In an additional effort, McDonald’s Malaysia is also engaging our employees nationwide in fundraising initiatives to further support relief efforts in Gaza because “they believe in the effort of collective power during these challenging times”.
“We hope that our collective endeavour will make a meaningful impact on the lives of those suffering in Gaza.”
Any form of help is welcomed, regardless of who and where you are. In the meantime, we pray for the well-being of those who are affected by the war.
