Weekends are possibly the only time left for many of us who hustle on the weekdays to rest under a peaceful condition.

Residents near Elmina Lakeside in Shah Alam, however, sometimes don’t have the luxury. In a viral TikTok video by @1491wawa, a large group of motorcycle riders, or “Mat Rempits” as Malaysians know were seen making noise with their rides at a roundabout in the area.

The roundabout was filled with the riders, and the TikTok user was not happy about the noises.

“This is Elmina Lakeside in Shah Alam on every Sunday evenings. Your motorcycles are so noisy, we can’t even have a relaxed evening!”

The management of Elmina, Sime Darby Property has since responded via an official statement, and assured the residents that they are well aware of the incident roaming around the Elmina West Township.

In the statement, Sime Darby Properties said they are working together with PDRM in Shah Alam to curb the matter, and necessary actions will be taken to handle the Mat Rempits via an operation – Operasi Banteras.

In the meantime, Sime Darby Properties also said that the auxiliary police will continue patrolling the area and collaborate with the police to handle the matter throughout the year.
