While ministers are going around flouting the Movement Control Order (MCO) standard operating procedures (SOPs), we, as the people, should be better by showing that we can follow the rules.

Unfortunately, we can’t say that we’re much better.

Nurizzaty Mohd Kamal took to her Facebook page to showcase concerning images of a massive crowd in front of a popular mall in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.

She captioned the images with the quote, ‘The MCO will be strengthened’.

Nurizzaty shared with World of Buzz that the people crowded the place to look at the Chinese New Year displays and that there were police personnel present at the scene, but they couldn’t do much.

“They tried to warn the people there. But, there were too many people, so they didn’t manage to break up the crowd,” she said.

Based on the images, the people can clearly be seen flouting physical distancing rules and crowding the location.

Seeing that we’ve been in the pandemic for what feels like forever, it should be our own responsibility and initiative to avoid crowds and physically distance ourselves from others.

“People are stubborn,” Nurizzaty added.

With the Covid-19 numbers remaining high despite us being weeks into another MCO, we have to step up and be better for the sake of our own safety and the safety of our loved ones.
