A married man got caught on February 12 (today) in a ‘khalwat‘ raid at a house in Kampung Pondok Labu Keladi.

The 32-year-old was found hiding behind the curtains of his girlfriend’s window by a team from the Kulim District Religious Office (PADK), along with the local mosque imam, around 1:20 AM.

They found him hiding behind the curtains in just his pants

Harian Metro reported Kulim District Religious Enforcement Officer Anwar Sharifuddin Mat Saad said that after receiving a report about immoral activities happening at the house, his team conducted a check and found that the house was locked from the inside.

He mentioned that after knocking on the door, a woman in just a towel opened it and allowed them to inspect the house.

“Upon checking further, they found a man hiding behind the curtains, wearing only pants and no shirt,” Anwar Sharifuddin added.

The couple was then arrested and taken to the nearby police station to file a report.

He said his wife left with another man

When they were questioned, the couple couldn’t show any proof they were married or in a legal relationship.

They said they had only known each other for a year through social media, and the man had stayed at the 37-year-old woman’s house a few times after her parents moved to Jitra.

Anwar Sharifuffin mentioned that the man would often give the woman rides home from work and would stay over since no one else was at her house.

“The man, who’s from Sabah, is married and said his wife ran off with another man while the woman is still single,” he added.

The case is being investigated under Section 25 (a) (b) of the Kedah Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment (EKJSK) 2014 for suspected khalwat.
