Ahh, there’s nothing sweeter than true love!
Although some of us may be jaded when it comes to love, stories like this make us believe that such a thing can exist for everyone.
According to The Straits Times, a Chinese couple from Chengdu province were amazed when they discovered that they had actually crossed paths more than a decade before they officially met, and there’s photographic evidence!
The couple, who have been married for five years, found out that they visited a popular tourist site, May Fourth Square in Qingdao on the same day in July 2000. This happened 11 years before they officially met each other.
While Ye was at his mother-in-law’s home, he was looking through childhood photographs of his wife, Xue, because he wanted to know who his twin daughters resembled most. He shared in an interview with local media,
“As I was going through the photos, I saw a man standing in the corner of one photo and said: ‘That’s me’.”
He explained that he was visiting the tourist area with a tour group, while his wife, Xue, was there with her mother.
While visiting the area, Xue took a photo in front of a large sculpture. In the background of her photo, Ye can be seen posing in front of the same sculpture for his own photo.
To confirm his suspicions, Ye went home and found the photo he took from that trip, and his thoughts were confirmed. He then took to local social media to share this serendipitous moment, and it soon became viral, touching thousands of netizens’ hearts.
Ye shared that he wants to bring his family back to May Fourth Square when their children are older since the location holds such a special meaning for both him and his wife. Aww!
These two were definitely destined for each other. Nothing like a cute love story to keep spirits high at the beginning of the week!
