In order to cover up what is believed to be an accident, a group of men allegedly decided to ‘hide’ a body of their friend by taking it almost 300km, from Batu Caves, Selangor, to Semanggol, Perak, on Monday (29 September).

The dead body of the 43-year-old male victim was then found by the side of an unpaved road with 3 gunshot wounds.

A man was accidentally shot dead while out hunting, his body left by the roadside 300km away by his friends

According to a report by Sinar Harian, Perak Police Chief, Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin, shared that the victim was believed to have been accidentally shot dead while out hunting with his friends in the forest area in Batu Caves on Sunday night (28 September).

“One of the friends shot the victim because he thought the victim was a game animal. Immediately after the incident, the suspect and 2 other men agreed to take the victim in a vehicle to Semanggol, accompanied by 2 other vehicles,”

“They then left the body by the side of an unpaved road to create another story to confuse the authorities.”

3 suspects have since been arrested

After the Semanggol Police discovered the body based on information from the public, investigations led to the arrest of 3 men.

“The police are still tracking down another individual who is believed to be involved in this case,” he added.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Head of the Kerian District Criminal Investigation Division, Assistant Superintendent Ambri Mat Nayan at 012-5306567, or their nearest police station.
