A young man from Sumatera, Indonesia, was recently arrested for murdering and raping a girl earlier this year.

According to Astro Awani, the man, known simply as Wagiran, had originally met the 15-year-old victim on Facebook and asked her out on a date on 30th September.

However, according to the victim’s family, they had lost contact with her since 1st September. The police began looking for the 15-year-old victim and eventually arrested Wagiran. It was later discovered that the victim was in fact murdered, and Wagiran confessed to killing her.

Sungkai Selatan Police Chief, AKP Yaya Karyadi, was quoted as saying,

“While they were on their date, Wagiran confessed his feelings for her and offered the victim a job at a boutique in Bungamayang.”

“However, the girl rejected and teased him, calling the suspect ‘dark and ugly’. Hurt by this, he brought the victim to a secluded area and choked her to death.”

“Before murdering her, however, the suspect also confessed to raping the victim.”
