Who doesn’t love holidays?

Well, in case you haven’t known, Malaysians are in for a treat this weekend as December 12 is a federal public holiday commemorating the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday!

December 12 is Monday, so yes, that means Malaysians are spared from the much dreaded Monday blues!

Malaysians To Enjoy This Coming Weekend's Long Holiday, But Selangor Has It Better - World Of Buzz

While all of us (unfortunately) resume our daily routine on Tuesday, Selangor peeps get to continue their relaxation on Tuesday, December 13 as it’s STILL a public holiday for them!

The holiday is due to the Sultan of Selangor’s 71st birthday which falls on December 11 (Sunday) and so it’s replaced on the next working day, December 13. So generous one Malaysia!

“Usually, a public holiday that falls on Sunday will have the following Monday declared a public holiday, but since Monday Dec 12 is also a public holiday, the Sunday public holiday is carried forward to Tuesday Dec 13,” Selangor State Secretary Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya said today when contacted by Bernama.

So, those who study or work in Selangor, rejoice as you get a whopping 4-day weekend. Sigh so jealous sial.

And those who are in Kuala Lumpur, whether you get the holiday or not really depends on your boss. Though my guess is a ‘no’.

Anyway, remember to tell your friends ah, don’t let them blur blur go to class or work alone!
