Malaysians are making it big overseas!
In a latest win, a Malaysian man has won one of Australia’s biggest poker tournaments, the Australian Poker League.
The tournament took to their Facebook page to announce Sean Ooi’s $585,000 (RM1,754,049.74) grand prize win!
They wrote, “Sean Ooi, welcome to the APL Million Hall of Fame!”
“From now on, this victory will be immortalised with his own banner above the felt here at Southport Sharks. Sean Ooi has capped off a year of countless APLPT final tables and trophies, with a win in the pinnacle event in the biggest APL series of all time!”
Sean became the last person standing from 2,496 entries, of which over 900 were generated throughout the APL network in the past 12 months.
“Post win, Sean described it as feeling ‘like a dream’, he spoke to our reporter afterwards and wanted to list out each name of the friends he wanted to thank, one by one. Upon realising there were too many, he just singled out his girlfriend, Mandy.”
“A huge congratulations must be given to all the other competitors, especially Josh Hutchins in second place, for their part in the greatest tournament in APL history,” they added.
Congratulations on your win, Sean!
Be right back, going to learn how to play poker.
