The Perodua Myvi is one of Malaysia’s most-loved cars, and can be found in abundance on the roads of Malaysia. However, this one Malaysian girl is not a fan of the compact car, according to Moretify.
In a recent Facebook post that has since gone viral, a netizen identified as John posted about his dating experience with his crush.
“Three months ago, I met a beautiful girl when I was working. Finally, I managed to find a chance to date her out for some drinks, but I drove an 11-year-old Myvi to pick her up.
“The first thing she said to me when she got in the car was, “Do you have any other car?”. I told her I only had this Myvi. After that date, there was no more contact between us.
“Last week, I decided to try my luck again and gathered up my courage to ask her out for the second time. But this time, I drove a new Mercedes Benz to pick her up. The moment she saw the car, she gave me a huge smile. After the date, she takes the initiative to message me everyday. Tell me, what should I do?”
He ends his post with a hashtag insisting that this is a true story and also saying that the girl may be a bit materialistic but everything else about her is good. He also shared photos of his Mercedes Benz E-Class on his post.
Pretty soon, comments came pouring in as netizens gave their opinions. As usual, the naysayers made their appearance. They said, “Just an E-Class and she is satisfied!”, “She likes your car, and not you.”, “Let her go because if one day a Ferrari came to pick her up she would follow him instead.”
Many of them criticise the girl and said, “She is too materialistic, she only sees whether you have money or not.” Of course, seeing as Myvi is so popular in Malaysia, many Myvi drivers were hurt and did not understand what was the issue with driving one.
There were a few people who did not believe his story, and said that he borrowed his father’s car to drive as they suspected his ability to buy the Mercedes-Benz.
John decided to prove these disbelievers wrong and shared more photos of his cars, plus photos of him actually driving the car. One netizen was curious and asked John, “How come she still wanted to go out with you for the second time since she knows you are driving a Myvi? He said, “Because before the second date I told her I have already changed my car!”
But not everyone disagreed with the girl’s actions. In fact, some people commented, “She is just thinking for her future, there is nothing wrong!”
They hit back at him and said,
“Come on, guys are the same. All you care about is a girl’s looks and body. If she was fat and ugly, would you date her?”
What advice would you guys give him?
