Looking for a permanent change of environment. Need a long term eat, pray, love type situation?

Well, Comparethemarket Australia has listed out the world’s most desirable places to relocate to and guess what, Malaysians? Our country is at number 13 on the list – at a tie with Portugal.

The Australia-based price comparison website has conducted a study where they analyzed Google search data from countries all around the world while looking for search terms in regards to relocating.

Malaysia 1

The annual search volume of the following key terms were found for each country in the world:

  • Houses in [country]
  • [Country] property
  • Moving to [country]
  • Relocating to [country]

Malaysia 2

Through this methodology, it was discovered that residents from Singapore and the Maldives prefer Malaysia as a destination to relocate to.

The countries taking the top three spots on the list are Canada, Japan and Spain respectively, and those in the lower spots include Italy, Germany, Thailand and Singapore.

You can check out the full list here.

Maybe its time to be proud and appreciate what Malaysia has to offer after all! What do you think about this?
