The system that assists flight passengers in checking in and boarding at all airports in Malaysia is currently experiencing a disruption, prompting multiple airlines to resort to contingency procedures.

Taking to their Facebook page, Malaysia Airports announced the disruption and provided guidance to passengers on what they can do to ensure they get on their respective flights.

They wrote, “A global passenger processing system used by multiple airlines worldwide is currently experiencing a temporary disruption which may impact check-in and boarding processes.”

“Airlines at Malaysia Airports have activated contingency procedures, and airport teams are on hand to assist with passenger processing where needed. The situation across all our airports is being closely managed, with passenger safety and comfort remaining our top priority.”

Alternative methods to check in and board

Malaysia Airports also assured that there are alternative methods available for passengers to check in and board their flights.

“Self-service kiosks are fully operational, allowing passengers to print boarding passes and baggage tags. Travellers are advised to follow guidance from airlines and airport teams at the terminal, check directly with their airlines for the latest flight schedule updates and proceed with online check-in where available,” they added.
