The wait for The Light Rail Transit Line 3 (LRT3), which stretches from Klang to Bandar Utama will be over soon. Transport Minister Anthony Loke confirmed that LRT3 will begin operations on September 30 this year.
In a written response to a parliamentary query (Pages 217 and 218) from Azli Yusof yesterday (February 26), the member of Parliament for Shah Alam, Anthony revealed that the project is currently 98.16% completed.

The full completion of the 37.8 KM-long LRT3 project is anticipated by July 31, at which point it will be handed over to Prasarana (Malaysia Bhd) by the turnkey contractor.
Azli was inquiring about the latest status of the project.
A trial run (TR) and fault-free run (FFR) under the first phase will be conducted by the main contractor, Setia Utama LRT3 Sdn Bhd, over 75 days from mid-April to late-June 2025. During this time, the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) will assess the safety, compliance, and system reliability.

The LRT3 project was launched back in 2016 during the administration of Barisan Nasional. The LRT line will run from Johan Setia, Klang and stretch all the way to Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya.
