A 27-year-old Indonesian woman recently went viral on social media after she shared her life experience of marrying someone that is more than twice her age. The woman, known as Ana Amalia revealed that her marriage to her 63-year-old husband was an arranged marriage by her parents and despite the relationship starting in tears, the couple is now blessed with happiness.
In a TikTok video, Ana Amalia shared that when they got married in December 2018, she didn’t smile or even wear any makeup but was only crying the whole time. However, as time goes by, she shared that they were blessed with happiness.
Ana Amalia shared,
“In December 2018, we got married, without makeup, without any smile, there were only tears. Masha Allah, Alhamdulillah (It is as Allah wills, Praise be to Allah), as time went by, Allah blessed us with happiness,”

She then shared that in 2021, the couple received an offer to take new wedding photos to keep as a valuable memory from an unspecified sponsor. Photos and videos from the photoshoot are what was shared in the TikTok video. Speaking of which, the video was posted in August 2022 and has since gone viral again in Indonesia, receiving over 3.3 million views, 93,600 likes and 914 comments.
Indonesian news portal Detik then got in contact with Ana Amalia and in an interview, she revealed that the marriage was arranged by her parents. Despite the 36-year gap, the couple has learned to accept and love each other for almost 5 years now. In fact, on her TikTok account, she shared their daily life together as a happy couple, with many of them getting more than 1 million views.
The story of Ana Amalia and her husband just goes to show that indeed, love has no age. So, to anyone who’s still single out there, don’t lose hope. Maybe your ‘jodoh’ is just not born yet!
