We guess it’s safe to say that the local film industry has been on the right track and on par with foreign films in recent years. The Mat Kilau movie grossed around RM97 million in 2 months, and this time, another local movie might be taking away Mat Kilau’s champion spot.
In just 1 week after its release, Polis Evo 3 has grossed a whopping RM25 million!
The main actor, Zizan Razak took to his Instagram account recently to share the good news with the fans and thanked them for their tremendous support since the beginning.
The 1st Polis Evo was released back in 2015, with the sequel in 2018, and apparently concluded in 2023 with Polis Evo 3. The film series features the same duo, Shaheizy Sam as Inspector Khai and Zizan Razak as Inspector Sani, and different villains for each movie.
Polis Evo 3 is directed by Syafiq Yusof, who is also the younger brother of Syamsul Yusof, who directed the Mat Kilau movie.
Polis Evo 3’s box office sales in 1 week alone have “swept away” the total sales for Polis Evo 2, which grossed around RM23 million in 2018. To the executive producer of Polis Evo 3, this signifies a positive momentum and tremendous support from the fans.
“We will focus on boosting the marketing for Polis Evo 3 so that everyone in Malaysia can enjoy the film. We believe PE3 fulfills the taste of Malaysian audience,” the executive producer said.
According to screen daily, Polis Evo crossed Rm18 million at the box office in 2015, which was also the 1st local movie to reach such a benchmark.
Polis Evo 3 sees the duo returning for a new mission, where Inspector Khai’s former partner has gone rogue due to an incident.
