Pets can very well become just as close as to its owner as any other member of the family, which is why it can be painful to part with them.

But imagine having your fur baby being taken from you for money, especially after you’ve bonded and have become attached to them.

According to a report by Noodou, a young girl in China was forced to give up her little dog as her grandmother had decided to sell it to a breeder for 100 Yuan (RM64.41), causing outrage among netizens.

In a video showcased on Douyin, the little girl, who already had tears in her eyes, could be seen holding onto the puppy as her grandmother and the breeders coaxed her to give up the dog.

After handing over the puppy, she then completely broke down as her grandmother and the breeders laughed and continued on with their conversation.

“The grandma wanted to sell the little white dog, but the little girl hugged it tightly and refused to let it go. The little girl burst into tears as the dog is the most loyal friend.”

You can check out the heartbreaking video here:

We genuinely hope that the little girl is reunited with her little doggie companion soon.

While we can’t imagine breaking the little girl’s heart for RM64, they may also be desperate for the money (perhaps they were starving and had no money for food?).
