It’s no doubt that Kuala Lumpur has many beautiful places and one of its attraction, the KL River of Life, has made it into the Independent’s “World’s 10 Best Waterfront Districts”. Woohoo!
The river which surrounds Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad, the oldest mosque in Kuala Lumpur, was a part of the River of Life project that was launched by the former government in 2012.

FYI, the aforementioned project aims to clean eight rivers “within the Greater KL/Klang Valley region”. There were three major components that became the focus of the project, and they are:
- River cleaning
- River beautification
- Commercialisation & tourism
Therefore, as a result of that project, the “convergence point” of Klang and Gombak rivers was named the best waterfront in the world by the British online news portal.

On their site, they were quoted as saying,
“The area known as KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre) might well have a shiny new W Hotel, Four Seasons and a Banyan Tree, but it’s the historic area near the beautiful Masjid Jamek mosque we’re most excited about.”
“This colourful chunk of KL sits on the banks of the Klang River, the focus of the huge River of Life, a regeneration project described as one of the most expensive urban river restoration projects ever undertaken. But it’s paid off – today, there are riverside cafes, hi-tech fountains, bicycle paths and nighttime light shows which turn the water a stunning cobalt blue.”

Dubbed the Blue Pool, the “Dancing Symphony Fountain” is one of its main events there! So, if you’re planning to catch it, you ought to know that they have several showtimes for different pieces of music. The showtimes are listed below:

- Jambatan Tamparuli: 9.45pm
- Star Wars Theme Song: 10.00pm
