Life is already tough as it is and sometimes, all we crave is happiness. If you’re looking for some happy places to go, the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has got you covered!

2 districts in Kelantan – Kuala Krai, and Gua Musang have been crowned among the 10 happiest cities in Malaysia, according to an X post shared by Kelantan’s Menteri Besar.

“The environmental care, solid waste management and effective and orderly garbage collection are among the main contributing factors for these 2 districts to be among the 10 happiest places in Malaysia.”

The low crime index also contributed to the “happy places” factor in these 2 districts.

This was not the 1st time that districts in Kelantan have been crowned as among the happy places in Malaysia. Back in 2019, Jeli, another district in Kelantan was also recognised as 1 of the happiest cities in Malaysia, as well as Taiping and Seremban.

Aside from Gua Musang and Kuala Krai, Klang, and Kuantan were also recognised as Malaysia’s happy cities. (Does Nanami have something to do with Kuantan in the list?)

Additionally, these places have also been “registered” as the 10 happiest cities in Malaysia.

  • Klang
  • Kulai
  • Rompin
  • Alor Gajah (Malacca)

The happiness index is a general measurement of the level of well-being of the population including aspects of health and mental and physical well-being.

In 2023, cities like Bentong, Melaka, Terengganu, and Kelantan were recongnised as the happiest cities in Malaysia, according to PLANMalaysia.

To those staying in the mentioned cities, are you happy that you’re living in the happiest cities in Malaysia?
