It appears that the Health Ministry is ready to put medical marijuana to the test as they’re open to clinical trials.
Health Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, took to his Twitter account to welcome researchers to collaborate.
He wrote, “Much discussion of late on medicinal use of marijuana. Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) has been consistent in practicing evidence-based policies. That’s why we have welcomed clinical studies for the use of CBD for medicinal purposes. This can be coordinated by the Institute for Clinical Research and Clinical Research Malaysia.”
Though, it seems that they’ve not really gotten much responses.
In his Twitter thread, Khairy added that the interest shown on social media has yet to be reflected in applications for the clinical trials.
“So far, there have been no full submissions for a clinical study/trial. Much expressions of interest, talk and social media advocacy,”
“KKM welcomes industry or academia initiated research for the medicinal use of CBD. We are ready to collaborate,” he urged.
So, why do you think no one has presented a full submission yet?
