A restaurant owner in Alor Setar, Kedah, shared a baffling experience with a customer whose kids allegedly damaged the wash basin after climbing on it.
In a viral Facebook post, the restaurant owner, Lian, said the 2 kids damaged the wash basin after climbing on it, but fortunately, both were unharmed. The wash basin fell and collapsed, and Lian sought compensation from the mother.

The woman initially agreed, but her husband, on the other hand, said no.
According to the man, Lian should compensate on her own.
“The husband and wife did not apologise. I fixed the wash basin for RM360, and when I texted the woman, she asked to split the bill.”
The mother said her husband decided to split the bill because the wash basin “was already in a bad condition,” to which Lian disagreed. After numerous attempts to get her compensation, the couple blocked Lian on WhatsApp.

Allegedly not the kids’ “first rodeo”
In her post, Lian also claimed that she recognized the family as it wasn’t their first visit to the restaurant, and the kids’ alleged behaviors made it easy for her to remember the family.
“They broke one of my bowls, and one of the kids urinated into my cup! Of course, I had disposed of the cup.”
Lian initially chose to be the bigger person and put them first as guests, but not until the family refused to compensate for the damaged wash basin. She decided to share the matter online out of unfairness.

“It was really my first experience for such an encounter after 10 years of operating my restaurant.”
The family last visited the restaurant on February 2 during the CNY season.
