Malaysians can not only cross the state but also go abroad by December. That is the confidence given by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob that permission will be given once Malaysia reaches a 90 per cent adult vaccination rate.  As reported in an interview by Utusan, he said,

“Yes, December. It may be even earlier. We will open up the state borders to enable them to be crossed. Travel to other countries will also be opened up after we reach the 90% vaccination rate.”

When asked about the rapid vaccination rate, the PM explained that he is confident that overseas travel would be allowed earlier than anticipated thanks to the current success of the vaccination rate. He even said if the vaccination rate is achieved within two weeks, it is even possible that international travel will be allowed by then.

PM also mentioned that the people will no longer have to register for the MyTravelPass to leave the country but the conditions for quarantine when they return home from overseas remain the same. Hopefully, we can achieve the vaccination rate soon so that the borders can be open again. However, it is our duty to ensure we follow all the SOPs to protect ourselves and the people around us from the virus.
