An iconic, high-performance Japanese sports car, the Nissan Skyline, was seized in Kedah after 5 years of taking to the streets without a valid Motor Vehicle License (LKM).
The Kedah state Road Transport Department (JPJ) took to its Facebook page to share how the Nissan Skyline was seized during an inspection in Taman Tengku Maheran.

The car did not have a valid Motor Vehicle License or insurance coverage
They wrote, “A high-performance Nissan Skyline ER34 vehicle, believed to have been driven without a valid Motor Vehicle License (LKM) for 5 years, was finally successfully detained and seized by JPJ Alor Setar during an inspection at KM 9, Jalan Darul Aman, Taman Tengku Maheran at around 6:49pm.”
“The inspection results found that the vehicle with a registration number also did not have valid insurance coverage and was using a registration number that did not comply with the set specifications.”

JPJ proceeded to issue a seizure notice under Section 64 of the Road Transport Act 1987, as well as a JPJ Notice (P) 22 against the driver involved.
Special car but no special treatment
They went on to share that the department will not compromise or provide special treatment, including for those with high-performance vehicles.
“Enforcement actions will continue to be strengthen for the safety of all road users.”
