Johor Student Dies 2 Days After Hitting Uneven Manhole Cover While Riding Motorbike To School

A 17-year-old student from Batu Pahat, Johor, has lost his life after spending 2 days in a coma following a road accident.

According to a report by China Press, the accident took place when the student was riding a motorcycle to school at 6am on November 1 (Tuesday). While on his way, he had hit a hole on a manhole cover on the road, causing him to sustain serious injuries including to the head.

He was rushed to a hospital where he received emergency treatment for his injuries. Though, he then had to spend 2 days in a coma caused multiple organ failure due to a haemorrhage in his brain.

The student’s mother called out her son’s name while he was in the coma. Despite this, he managed to shed tears upon hearing his mother’s voice.

During his time in the hospital, the student’s classmates and teachers had visited him after they found out about the shocking news of his condition.

Sadly, he has since succumbed to his injuries and has passed away.

We genuinely hope that the local authorities look into filling up the holes around manhole covers.
