A heartbreaking incident in Johor has come to light after a young girl was reportedly kicked out by her father for refusing to marry a man of his choosing.
In a Facebook post, Malaysian entrepreneur and preacher Herman Sudil shared that the girl was forced out of her home after expressing her wish to continue her schooling rather than being pushed into marriage.

Seeking refuge
Herman explained that the girl was later placed in a children’s shelter after a police report was lodged; she was then formally handed over by her own mother.
“Tomorrow is Hari Raya Aidilfitri, but this teenager was kicked out of her home by her own father for wanting to continue her education and refusing to marry someone he knows,” he wrote.
He described her as a bright student with strong academic results who chose to leave home, even though it meant leaving behind her mother and siblings.
“She’s a good kid with great academic performance and dreams for her future, yet she was being forced into marriage. Still in her school uniform, she walked out of her home. We’ll be taking her to get Hari Raya clothes and other necessities soon,” he added.

“Cases like this push us to keep going so we can help more kids”
Upon her arrival at the children’s shelter, Herman noted that she had brought nothing with her but her school bag and books. He also recalled her joining a Quran recitation session with the other students at the shelter at dawn.
He shared:
“We truly feel for her, but it’s better for her to be away from her family so she can continue her education. God willing, when she grows up, she’ll be able to help her siblings.
“Please keep us in your prayers. Even when we feel like giving up, cases like this push us to keep going, to raise funds and complete the new TBQ children’s home so we can help more kids,”
