Former Singaporean national Jocelyn Chia and her viral standup comedy set which referenced the MH370 tragedy in a tasteless manner have been the talk of social media over the past 2 days or so.

What’s not on social media though is Jocelyn herself as following the standup routine going viral and being criticised by both Malaysians and Singaporeans, she has gone AWOL on various platforms.

As of the time of writing, her account on Twitter, @chiacomedy has apparently been suspended due to violating rules on the platform.

The social media platform didn’t disclose why the account was suspended, though it is possible that it was the case because of the video of her standup routine not being in compliance with Twitter rules.

Furthermore, the suspension may also be a result of mass reports by other users against the account for a reason that Twitter agrees with.

Besides that, Jocelyn has also apparently deactivated her Instagram account as the account has ‘disappeared’ from the Meta-owned platform. Prior to the deactivation, she has hidden all of the posts on the account.

However, her TikTok and YouTube accounts are still active, though with restrictions to the comments sections in both platforms.

Jocelyn has been bombarded with many comments from netizens on her social media accounts following the aforementioned standup routine.

Following the video going viral, the Singaporean government even apologised to Malaysia for her insensitive remarks and clarified that she is no longer the country’s citizen.

So, what do you guys think of the whole situation? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
