A 28-year-old unemployed man in Japan has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder seven children.
According to The Guardian, police in Osaka arrested the suspect, Yuki Yazawa, at the scene after he allegedly drove his car into a group of schoolchildren who were walking home from school.
As a result, a 7-year-old girl suffered a broken jaw while a few other children aged 7 and 8 sustained light injuries. All the children were reportedly conscious and brought to a hospital for treatment.

“I was just sick of everything”
It was reported that the suspect appeared to have deliberately driven his car into the group of children on a quiet residential street around 1:30 PM on May 1 (Thursday), according to NHK.
He later told the police that he was simply fed up with life.
“I was just sick of everything, so I decided to drive my car into the elementary school students to kill them,” he said.
Teachers from the school rushed to the scene and pulled the suspect out of the vehicle, where he had remained after the crash.

Witness said the suspect was driving erratically
In an interview with NHK, one of the victims’ mothers, who was there to pick up her son, claimed she saw the car being driven erratically, and it looked like it kept moving forward even after hitting the children.
“My son was so shaken up, he hasn’t stopped crying. He just started elementary school last month, and now this happens. It’s terrifying. I saw the man who was driving, and he was quiet and looked like he was in a daze,” she said.
Meanwhile, another witness also told NHK that after hitting the kids, the car allegedly reversed and hit them again.
