The Masjid Jamek Ar-Rahman board is sharing their disappointment over a viral video showcasing several scantily-clad female dancers at a recent Songkran Festival in Batu Ferringhi, Penang.
According to a report by Harian Metro, their chairman, Ismail Din, said that they received information about the video that has been going viral on social media since Sunday (April 13).

“We only found out about it after the video had gone viral, which showed several women dancing in a semi-nude manner, on the top floor of a restaurant. It clearly shows indecent and disgusting activities,” he said.
He went on to share the board’s belief that the festival was highly immoral, and that they strongly condemn it for being insensitive and for tarnishing the image of Batu Ferringhi beach as a public attraction.
“We recommend that the authorities involved look more closely at the permit application before granting permission, to prevent activities like this from happening again in the future because it threatens the sensitivities of the Muslim community here,” he added.
Prior to this, a video showcasing scantily-clad women dancing at a restaurant during a Songkran Festival had gone viral online due to it’s close proximity to a mosque.
