This is certainly something you don’t hear every day, and it’s sure to warm your heart!
Federal Territories Mufti, Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri inspired thousands of Malaysian netizens yesterday when he posted about a visit he made to Ikhlas, a shelter for those who have been left behind by society.
The shelter houses transgenders, drug addicts, sex workers and other people ousted by society who have no place to call home. The shelter is located in Chow Kit, KL.
In his post, Dr Zulkifli explained that he had a Q&A session with this group of individuals relating to Islam.
He expressed that he felt for these individuals when they described how they have been ostracised by society.
He then went on to say that he went there to apologise to them on behalf of the Islamic community that has mistreated and isolated them.
After the Q&A session, they then observed prayers together, after which the Mufti kindly gave them duit Raya.
Dr Zulkifli ended his post saying,
“We care for this community because of Allah.”
What a heartwarming post, and just before Hari Raya too! #goodvibes
