Since the launch of the Menu Rahmah Program, many restaurants including fast food outlets and hypermarkets like Mydin have started offering budget-friendly RM5 meals.
The initiative has been a hit with Malaysians, with the list of participating restaurants only continuing to grow. But you may ask, what could be better than cheap and well-balanced meals?
The answer is cheap and high-quality homestays!
Recently, a homestay in Ayer Keroh, Melaka, Sarasera Homestay, announced on their Facebook page that they’ll be offering a special package called “Inap Rahmah” for only RM5 per night!
Yes, RM5 per night for a 4-bedroom, fully air-conditioned house that comes with a private pool, a BBQ pit, WiFi and Astro!
Giving back to the community
The owner of Sarasera Homestay, Nurul Himmah Muhammad Kamaruzzaman, 34, said that she wanted to offer the package as a way of supporting the government’s initiative in helping the underprivileged, especially the B40 community in Malaysia.
“I thought, if we already have the Menu Rahmah, why not also help the B40 community who’ve probably never had the wonderful experience of spending a night with their families in this luxurious homestay that is equipped with a swimming pool at a price of only RM5 per night,” Nurul Himmah told Malaysia Gazette.
“Additionally, I’ve experienced how hard life can get when I used to help my mother sell vegetables at the night market after my father died when I was four years old.”
“That’s why I hope this small effort of mine can give great meaning to those who really dream of it,” she said.
The details
Sarasera Homestay started operating in January with a price of RM650 per night on weekdays and RM750 per night on public holidays and weekends.
So, with the Inap Rahmah initiative, guests will be able to enjoy up to 99 percent off the homestay’s original price!
Do bear in mind that the offer is only available on weekdays from February to March subject to availability and fulfilment of certain conditions.
“One of the conditions is that guest will have to submit their income documents so that this effort really reaches the target group.”
“My intention is to have their large families, maybe 10 or 15 people gather, to enjoy the swimming pool facilities while having a BBQ that can strengthen family ties,” she said.
How generous of her! We hope her business will continue to grow even when the promotion ends.
