This is your sign to visit Ilham Gallery in KL!
I always like looking for free places to visit around Klang Valley, and I was quite surprised to find that there’s this art gallery in Kuala Lumpur with free entry!
Located in Ilham Tower, Ilham Gallery is a public art gallery that supports the development of Malaysian modern and contemporary art.
The gallery showcases contemporary and modern paintings, sculptures, and artworks from Asian artists. There’s also a gift shop that sells handicrafts which highlights the beauty of Malaysia, like roti canai postcard, durian embroidery, and local card games.
The best thing about it is that it offers free admission, and is easily reachable via public transport. You can take the LRT Kelana Jaya line, exit at Ampang Park station, and walk around two minutes to reach the art gallery.
Alternatively, you can also alight at Persiaran KLCC station via the MRT Putrajaya line, the station is only about three minutes from Ilham Gallery.
For those who drive, the parking fee is RM5 per hour, and a flat rate of RM5 after 5 pm. Do note the it is closed on Mondays and public holidays. Check out more details about the exhibition and full operation hours at Ilham Gallery’s official site here.
