This is heartbreaking!

“Child, if you love me, please take me home, I don’t want to stay here anymore,” said a 67-year-old mother who wants her children to take her back from an old folks home in Johor Bahru.

According to mStar, a 31-second video surfaced on Facebook showing 67-year-old Maimon Abdul Hamid begging her children to take her back home.

The woman, speaking in Malay, can be heard saying,

“If you love me, please don’t leave me here. I don’t want to be here, I am suffering. Let me be with you. I hope you haven’t forgotten about me.”

Sri, the person who initially posted this video on Facebook, hopes that Maimon will be reunited with all her children to celebrate this year’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri with her family.

“I just want to fulfill MakCik Maimon’s dream of seeing her children again. I chose to spread this video online and my only intention was to help the homeless mother,” Sri told mStar.

Sri, who lives in Johor Bahru, frequently visits the old folks home where Maimon currently resides. Many other senior citizens who have also been abandoned by their families live in this home too. It is believed that Maimon has a total of seven children from three different marriages.

After the video went viral, Maimon’s youngest child was successfully tracked down and it was revealed that he currently resides in Batam, Indonesia. Sri told the daily,

“Her son is currently leading a difficult life back in Indonesia, however, he is willing to come to Malaysia to take care of his mother.”

“However, the son might face problems to get a work permit here. Therefore, if anyone is willing to lend a hand, please help Maimon and her son.”

Well, at least one of her children is now aware of this situation and is willing to look after her! We hope that with proper help, both of them will be reunited soon!
