Following Donald Trump’s declaration that he has won the 2024 US Presidential Election after being projected to do so by Fox News, with many other news agencies concurring with it, several world leaders have congratulated the apparent President-Elect for the victory.
These include Hungary Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who said that the win is “a much-needed victory for the world”.
However, another world leader who congratulated Trump’s apparent victory, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, caused concerns, especially in the way he phrased the message, especially amidst the ongoing genocide in Palestine.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Netanyahu dubbed Trump’s victory as “history’s greatest comeback” and said that his return to the White House is a “powerful commitment to great alliance between Israel and America”.
As of the time of writing, the official result has yet to be announced, and Trump’s opponent, Kamala Harris, has yet to concede.
