Australia is probably the ‘it’ place to migrate to for most Asians. For the past two decades, the number of Asian immigrants in Australia has increased tremendously.
Although the number of people on the massive island grew bigger, the government is still looking for more people to migrate over.
Therefore, the government has released a list of professions that they are looking for on a yearly basis. They do this in hopes that they can add skillful people into their country.
As of July 1st, 2017, this new list will take effect, SBS reported. From the previous list, 12 occupations have been removed but many more were added!
There are three types of skill sets; long-, medium- and short-term skills.
- The long- and medium-term skill sets include jobs in engineering, nursing, accounting, carpentry and the likes.
- As for the short-term skill sets, Australia is looking for farmers, teachers, journalists, managers in multiple sectors, designers and more.
According to the visa bureau, you should be under 50 years old when applying for your visa. Speaking competent English is also a requirement since it is the country’s main spoken language.
Your skills will then be assessed by specific authorities for each occupation. Even your health will be taken into consideration as you need to have reasonably good health to have your visa approved.
