Ministry of Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced that a total of 4,756 frontliners from the Ministry of Health (MOH) had been infected with Covid-19 so far.
Among the 4,756 infected, 3,101 were men, and 1,655 were women.
According to Noor Hisham, most of them were infected in the community they live in and not in the facilities they work in.
Speaking on an online engagement session that involved prominent members of the medical community, the numbers presented were indeed shocking.
A total of 936 frontliners from the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) were also infected.
Senior Consultant Physician for Infectious Diseases from the Sungai Buloh Hospital, Datuk Dr C. Suresh Kumar, Head of Virology Unit of the Medical Research Institute (MIR) Dr T. Ravindran, National Public Health Laboratory director Dr Hani Mat Hussin and Medical Practices Division senior principal assistant director Dr Mohamed Ahsan Mohamed Ismail attended the session.
Let’s do our part in protecting our frontliners by clarifying our Covid-19 status in our next visit to the hospital.
