It is believed that the 57-year-old OCS and two other police officers asked and received the bribe as payment to ensure that MCO violaters were not given saman. “He was arrested late yesterday evening during a raid at a police station. During the raid, bribes amounting to RM6,000 that were kept in his office were discovered,” said a source from Berita Harian.

Following the report, the person who paid the bribe was a business owner who was found violating MCO SOPs. In a statement recorded by Astro Awani, it was also revealed that the officers asked the business owner to pay protection money of up to RM1,000 every month to ensure no action is taken against the business.
