A 37-year-old Malaysian woman, Norshamira Zainal, was recently found dead in Kuantan after completing a cash-on-delivery (COD) food drop-off.
The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) have since quickly found and arrested the 53-year-old suspect. Yesterday (February 15), Norshamira’s husband, Mohammad Afiq Akhmal Nudin, said it was a huge relief to know that the suspect had been apprehended.

Shockingly, Afiq has previously met the suspect
In a report by Sinar Harian, the husband said he met the murder suspect last Monday (February 10) when he was accompanying his wife to the COD food drop-off. Afiq had never suspected the man to be the murder suspect.
“I had never suspected anything. The man looked kind and he wanted buy me a grilled fish meal. I never knew that he had ill intentions against my wife hidden behind the kindness.”

Despite Afiq’s anger, he said he left the matter to the police. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, and the suspect will be remanded for 7 days. Norshamira’s funeral was held on Friday at 6 pm.
“As a husband, I am happy with this arrest. I hope the suspect receives his punishment.”

The incident that befell the food trader attracted much attention, including from the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
His Majesty, who visited the victim’s family at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) Photonics Unit, described the suspect’s actions as cruel and inhumane.
