After losing his job, he struggled with finding a new job. He told BERNAMA that young people should not rely too much on the help and assistance of others, as long as there is kudrat (God’s power), it is better to make a living by ourselves.

He said that previously while he was working as a telco staff, he would do part-time work as a superhero or cartoon character costumed performer in a group called the Penang Superhero Gang (GSP). They would always be invited to events like birthday parties to entertain the kids.

“Even though we have to work at the side of the road no matter rain or shine, I feel happy whenever the people who pass by wave or honk at us. Many people miss the world outside of their house and I am happy that I get to entertain them,” Muhammad Syukur said.
