Popular tourist hotspots such as KLCC and Bukit Bintang are often filled with roadside stalls selling food. Although this is illegal, there seems to be no end to it.

Recently, a pair of foreigners were spotted illegally selling grilled corn on the side of the road next to KLCC. In a video circulating on X, one of the workers appeared to be preparing the corn while the other was grilling them.

The caption of the post reads, “Please arrest these people. They are grilling corn right in front of KLCC. They’re producing so much smoke and waste. DBKL needs to go on patrols every night. You can’t just wait for people to complain first.”

The account also tagged Federal Territories Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa in hopes of getting her attention.

The video has since gone viral, with netizens calling on the relevant authorities to do something about it.

“They’re clever at finding opportunities. They know that there’s a lot of foot traffic in the area. So the chances of sales are high.”

“An example of how our authorities are slow, lazy and ineffective. Just wasting tax payer’s money,” said another user.
